Peace

I've been up all night for the 3rd night in a row listening to news and refreshing Twitter, trying to understand what's going on in the world. I'm in my bed, safe and warm and surrounded by love but my heart is broken. There's nothing good about war, it's just needless pain, death and suffering. My heart is with Ukraine, I hope you get to keep your country and your life and your democracy. I'm sorry there's nothing I can do. So this is what I made while listening to news between checking Twitter. It's based on a Picasso drawing, the quote is Palsem 34:16 and is one of my favorite Bible quotes. The Hebrew words have even more urgency it's more like chase than pursue. A reminder that peace is not a passive state or the absence of war but something we should actively work toward. Please don't pay for this pattern, if you want to, donate money to Ukrainian refugees funds, amplify Ukrainian voices on social media, call your representatives about assisting Ukraine and taking refugees and seek and pursue peace.
